4th of July Fun!

Hunter and I were so thrilled to have Daddy home for the 4th of July weekend! We spent some great time together as a family up at Hess Lake. Chase treated me like a princess the whole weekend it was so nice, I cherished every minute of it!

Hunter got to experience sparklers for the first time and yes he did touch the hot part! We dunked his hand in the lake and the fishes kissed it better. He did tough anything hot the rest of the night! Saturday Night we were able to sit on the dock and see the Ring of Fire which I look forward to every year. The took an aerial shot this year which was very neat but there is something about seeing those red lights slowly pop up one by one all the way around the lake. We also were privileged to have a fireworks barge parked right in front of our cottage and Eric Theisen right next door (hes kind of a rock star when it come to fireworks) so we saw a really nice show. Hunter wasn't so crazy about the screaming kind he thought they were birdies crying but he enjoyed all the colors until he drifted off to dreamland.

We spent some time out on the water too. Hunter really enjoyed going tubing the faster the better! Chase decided to give in a go too and he hopped in the tube with Hunter. Unfortunately they hit a wave wrong and both wiped out. They both went under but Daddy grabbed Hunter right away. There were some tears shed but if you ask him about it now he will just tell you about the bubbles he saw in the water. When I saw them tip all I could think was thank goodness for swimming lessons!

Daddy also took Hunter for his first seadoo ride. Hunter wasn't too thrilled about it but maybe next time.
Hope you guys all enjoyed your Forth of July!

Cottage Fun!

We have been lucky enough to enjoy a few nice weekends at my Grandparents cottage so far this summer and we have enjoyed every minute of it! Hunter loves loves loves being with Grandpa and Grandma Holkeboer and to be able to spend the night with them is almost too much excitement for him! When I was around 10 or so my grandpa built a loft bedroom for me at the cottage. Hunter thinks this room is the great thing ever. He loves being able to climb the latter and he must tell everyone that he gets to sleep way up high!

Memorial Day weekend he got to do some blue gill fishing with Grandpa Abby, Uncle Mike, and Daddy. Hunter's spiderman fishing pole proved to catch the most fish time and time again!

And of course my parents and grandparents are Detroit Tigers fans so the weekends would not be complete with out a little baseball.

I think they are discussing who to splash next!

14 weeks and such

14 weeks that's into the second trimester. I should be feeling full of energy and ready to conquer the world right? WRONG! This morning I woke with a pounding headache. But I thought at least I'm not throwing up. Haha funny. No less then two seconds later I became queen of the porcelain thrown. This baby has to be a girl, boys wouldn't do that to their mommies!

We had such an eventful weekend this weekend despite all the rain! Friday night was beautiful! Hunter and I both put on short and mowed the lawn after dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Dokter. I totally didn't expect to get very far on the lawn with having to keep my eyes on the little man but I got the whole front yard done! It felt soo good to have that done!!! Now I just need to learn how to trim the lawn and I would be all set. Something about the trimmer scares me, yes I can shoot a gun but the trimmer scares me! Hunter thought mowing the lawn was lots of fun he giggled every time I held him up and let him "push" the mower.
Saturday we went up north to my grandparents cottage and raked leave and mowed the lawn. Hunter had so much fun playing with the dogs outside, as you can see Abby loved having him there too! Hunter wanted so badly to follow the dogs into the water, I wish it would warm up. From the looks of it Hunter will enjoy tubing just as much as mommy. Maybe this summer we actually will let him ride one! We drove home in the rain and it continued to rain the rest of the day. I felt so bad for all the kids going to prom! By the way have you seen any of the in-style dresses this season! I love that they are patterned and not just solids with sparkles. It kind of makes me wish I could do prom all over again!
Sunday was yet another raining day. After church and a great breakfast we went shopping and got Chase some much needed shorts and jeans. He even let me get him some plaid shorts! Lets see if he actually wares them...
