4th of July Fun!

Hunter and I were so thrilled to have Daddy home for the 4th of July weekend! We spent some great time together as a family up at Hess Lake. Chase treated me like a princess the whole weekend it was so nice, I cherished every minute of it!

Hunter got to experience sparklers for the first time and yes he did touch the hot part! We dunked his hand in the lake and the fishes kissed it better. He did tough anything hot the rest of the night! Saturday Night we were able to sit on the dock and see the Ring of Fire which I look forward to every year. The took an aerial shot this year which was very neat but there is something about seeing those red lights slowly pop up one by one all the way around the lake. We also were privileged to have a fireworks barge parked right in front of our cottage and Eric Theisen right next door (hes kind of a rock star when it come to fireworks) so we saw a really nice show. Hunter wasn't so crazy about the screaming kind he thought they were birdies crying but he enjoyed all the colors until he drifted off to dreamland.

We spent some time out on the water too. Hunter really enjoyed going tubing the faster the better! Chase decided to give in a go too and he hopped in the tube with Hunter. Unfortunately they hit a wave wrong and both wiped out. They both went under but Daddy grabbed Hunter right away. There were some tears shed but if you ask him about it now he will just tell you about the bubbles he saw in the water. When I saw them tip all I could think was thank goodness for swimming lessons!

Daddy also took Hunter for his first seadoo ride. Hunter wasn't too thrilled about it but maybe next time.
Hope you guys all enjoyed your Forth of July!

16 Weeks and counting

Sorry it's so blurry, my mirror doesn't like the flash and my camera can't work with out it. I have been feeling much better this week and I fell I can finally say I am over the morning sickness thing. I only threw up once this week but that was after going dumpster diving for a 100 dollar gift card that my hubby missed in his stack of mail. Well worth it if you ask me! Its a gift card to Lowe's so I plan to buy Hunter's closet doors with it so he can get settled into his big boy room. His new bedding is getting delivered today! I can't wait! This is what we got him ...

courtesy of Grandpa and Grandma Holkeboer. Thank you! His room is all cleared out and waiting for the finishing touches I am really hoping I can meet my July 1 deadline. Not that the world would end if I didn't.
We have been rocked by some pretty nice storms lately, even at tornado warning at 1 in the morning which is pretty rare for Michigan. An no dad I didn't die when you didn't answer your phone at 1:00 am, I managed to get in the basement on my own. Although your encouragement would have been nice cause if you haven't noticed in the past 24 years storms terrify me!! Also some folk were lucky enough to feel the earthquake that shook in Canada yesterday which is another very rare occurrence in Michigan. I didn't get to feel but I was at work so probably something to do with the massive cement wall behind me to support the cantilever or just the awesome construction of Lamar Construction.

Cottage Fun!

We have been lucky enough to enjoy a few nice weekends at my Grandparents cottage so far this summer and we have enjoyed every minute of it! Hunter loves loves loves being with Grandpa and Grandma Holkeboer and to be able to spend the night with them is almost too much excitement for him! When I was around 10 or so my grandpa built a loft bedroom for me at the cottage. Hunter thinks this room is the great thing ever. He loves being able to climb the latter and he must tell everyone that he gets to sleep way up high!

Memorial Day weekend he got to do some blue gill fishing with Grandpa Abby, Uncle Mike, and Daddy. Hunter's spiderman fishing pole proved to catch the most fish time and time again!

And of course my parents and grandparents are Detroit Tigers fans so the weekends would not be complete with out a little baseball.

I think they are discussing who to splash next!
